a couple of trees that are in the grassOn this 2-day tour from Flores, visit the archaeological sites of Tikal and Yaxhá and discover the most important complexes of the Mayan civilization. It is one of the least known Mayan archaeological sites in Central America but no less interesting. Located only about seventy kilometers from the town and lake island of Flores, which serves as the base for visiting the fabulous ruins of Tikal, the Yaxhá Archaeological Park is eclipsed by the well-deserved fame of its older brother. In this way, it is not strange that travelers overlook the Yaxhá Archaeological Park to focus solely on Tikal, one of the most fabulous in the Mayan world and a great archaeological jewel of the Petén jungle. Tikal The jewel of Guatemala and one of the most important Mayan sites in the world. It is impressive to see how well it is preserved –and restored– as well as the magnitude of the temples. The most visually attractive area are the Acropolis and the Great Plaza, where the most important pyramids are located. Temple I or Temple of the Great Jaguar is the most famous. Yaxhá The great forgotten since most only visit Tikal. The first thing one feels when arriving at Yaxhá is the tranquility and the few people there. It will start at the end, and the sunset from the top of one of the temples is amazing. Perfect to enjoy the silence and what one has before him. From above you can see the lakes that surround Yaxhá. One of them is next to the temples.
On Day 11, you'll be collected from your hotel and transferred to the airport at City of Guatemala and take a connecting flight back to Mexico City. After a final night in Mexico City, exploring & dining, you'll be transferred back to the airport the following day for your connecting international flight out of Mexico.
