Lima, Ica, Huacachina & Huayhuash
Lima, Ica, Huacachina & the Huayhuash: Beginning in Lima; you’ll head to the coastal town of Ica for some local wineyard sampling for the day. Following this; you’ll head to Huacachina; the very definition of a “desert oasis”. Then you’ll experience a sandboarding adventure on the surrounding desert dunes.
Then it’s on to Huaraz: Mini-Huayhuash Trek – 3 Days. The shortened 3 day Mini-Huayhuash trek allows you to experience an abbreviated version of the longer trek; whilst not compromising on the stunning views.
As an aside; this route is a little more demanding than the more classic Santa Cruz trek route. It is considered to be suitable for novice trekkers and hikers; however, ensuring that a program of acclimatization is followed properly before departure. During the trek you will be rewarded with a series of glacial lakes and snowcapped nevadas along the way.
This 3 Day trek is centred around the incredible Jahuacocha Lake area; considered one of the most scenic places in alpine trekking, to trek and camp out. Along the route you’ll see the important sights of the Cordillera Huayhuash; hit the Rondoy Valley; scale the impressive Sambunya Pass and experience the beautifully natural Jahuacocha Lake.
Thus; you’ll spend a final night in Huaraz. Then; heading onwards to Lima for your connecting flights. It’s never goodbye, only until the next time!

Lima - Ica - Viña Tacama Vineyard
Leaving Lima in the morning, driving south to the Ica region (4 hrs ride approx.), where you`ll spend the night. Arriving in Ica the first stop is at Viña Tacama, the oldest vineyard in South America. In the 1540`s, Francisco de Carabantes created the Tacama Vineyard, which is the oldest in Peru, and from where the grapevine was disseminated to Chile & Argentina.
The original objective of Tacama`s vineyard creation was to supply wine to different religious orders that were recently established in The city of Kings (Lima, capital of the Peruvian Vice Royalty). Since then, its consumption was associated with health and a better quality of life, far away from diseases associated with poverty. After that in 1776, a protectionist measure from Spain prohibited Peruvian wine exports which promoted its own wine distillation, and that is how PISCO was created, a typical Peruvian grape liquor that was a different option for Peruvian Winemakers. (visit and tasting 2 hours approx.)
After here we will continue driving for another 15 min. to our accommodation, check in and relax. (time on your own) Accommodation is located at 3 blocks from Huacachina Oasis which is surrounded by Sandunes. Time for a stroll.
