Patagonia & Iguaçu Waterfalls
An incredible 3-week tour, encompassing the best of the Patagonia region. Travel in style & explore the vast mythical & wild expanse of Patagonia.
Patagonia, the vast, pristine wilderness in the southernmost parts of Chile and Argentina, offers incredible nature adventures befitting a true follower of the road less traveled. The Southern Andes where towering mountains climb steep shores, sculpting an expansive coastline on the west, and the Andean Plateau stretches conservatively in the east, marks Chile’s breathtaking bond-of-jewelry – a promise of the endearing free spirit only found at the very end of the world. Spectacle of sunsets that greets long summer evenings, shimmering lakes and ice-cold streams with crystal clear waters, or expansive steppe and lush forests teeming with every shade of wildlife provides for an invigorating experience in a world that seems to stand still; thus, expanding a variety of international experts advocate ecological tourism, which they call responsible, alternative or sustainable tourism.
The Welsh, a seafaring nation of fairytale folklore, arrived in Patagonia as well due to a calling for freedom. They were given special liberties to establish their colony in Chubut, where the Andean-Patagonian beauty was ingrained into their culture. In their dialect, Patagonia was no longer just a land of southern mastodons, it was a tale of discovery and veneration. Throughout all these scenarios, the outstanding efforts of those who have given selflessly to conserve Patagonia’s environment become so noticeable that words and photographs may not be enough. What we seek is an Indochina in communion with the community, with whose support genuineness is perpetuated.
Patagonia is a region located at the southern end of South America, at the border between Argentina and Chile. The specific boundaries of the region are not exactly defined, but it is generally accepted that it starts from the Colorado River and goes southwards to the Magallanes Strait, and from the Andes eastwards to the Atlantic Ocean. From a political point of view, Argentinean and Chilean Patagonia encompasses provinces and regions of both countries, such as the Argentinean provinces of Neuquén, Río Negro, Chubut, Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego, and the Chilean regions of Aysén, Magallanes and Antártica Chilena. Patagonia covers an area of 1,043,076 square kilometers and has a population of 1.8 million people. This means that the population density is relatively low, with only 1.6 inhabitants per square kilometer. The word «Patagonia» originally comes from the word «patagón,» which refers to a human skull that was found in the area.
The Patagonia region is known for its strong and variable winds and for its sunny, dry weather. The weather in the area is unpredictable: in a single day, you might experience sun, rain, wind, and snow. There are very few and small urban settlements in Patagonia, the largest ones being Puerto Montt, on the Chilean side, with a population of 161,000 inhabitants, and Comodoro Rivadavia, on the Argentinean side, with a population of 180,000 people. The southernmost point of this region is Cabo de Hornos and the southernmost continental point is the Magallanes Latitude. The topographical features which are better known in Patagonia are the Andes mountains, the coastal cliffs bordering the Atlantic Ocean, the glacial erosion through valleys, and the huge marinas or natural floodwater.
