Trek & Climb: Nevado Ausangate

An incredible trek & climb Peru adventure in the Cordillera Vilcanota; on a route known as the “Camino del Apu Ausangate”. The “Apu” is the bearer of life; & guardian of one of the most pristine mountain eco-systems in the world. Trek & climb the revered Nevada Ausangate and revel in the spiritual & climbing traditions of this region.

Above all; this is a stunning and diverse route showing you a part of Peru that is largely untouched by tourism. Communities here continue to live traditionally; often without many of the modern utilities that are in use today. Collecting you early from Cusco, taking private transport; to meet up with our arrieros and mules at the start point. They will accompany us for the duration of the trek and climb expedition.

Following then; the Apu Ausangate is the fifth highest mountain in Peru; and is part of the Cordillera Vilcanota, Central Andes of South America. At 6,384 masl; it’s the highest peak in the Cordillera Vilcanota.

Similarly; Ausangate is probably the most well-known peak for mountaineering in Cusco. This nevada can be spotted rising from the skyline from many vantage places in the city of Cusco. Trek alongside this amazing nevada; then scale the summit to enjoy rare 360º views of this epic mountain range.
