Waking up early once more to leave for the
Macaw clay lick, "chuncho", the largest in the world. An approximate trip of
2 hrs up the river by boat motorized, on the way you'll have an incredible opportunity to see wildlife, many species of birds, reptiles, mammals, as well as capybara, the largest rodent in the world. Occasionally, with a lot of luck, you can spot
Jaguars (Panthera Onca).
Arriving at the collpa, you'll settle in a suitable place for breakfast and enjoy the most beautiful natural spectacle of the avifauna that brings together huge groups of Scarlet, green and red
macaws, Blue and yellow,
parrots and
parakeets. They come to the cliffs to feed on nutrient-rich clay, which is of paramount importance to eliminate toxins and supplement nutrients in their daily diet as they cannot be found in other fruits. With good weather you can see hundreds of these wonderful Macaws in activity, then return to the lodge for a short rest.
After lunch, visiting the
Quiroz lake, an approximate tour of 45 min through the rainforest trails with immense trees such as
Ceibas and
Shihuahuacos, etc. During the walk, enjoying the biodiversity and with a lot of luck you can see many wild animals, such as: mammals, amphibians, reptiles, birds, insects.
