Trek Patagonia: Lago Grey & Lago Nordenskjöld

Overview

Trek Patagonia: Lago Grey & Lago Nordenskjöld

Trek Patagonia: Lago Grey & Lago Nordenskjöld: exploring the main lakes of Torres del Paine; this is a great trip for those who like to explore the immense lakes around Torres del Paine national park. A short trip with short hikes and great spots for Photography.

Discover the best of Patagonia.
“Rock, ice, snow, wind, and water, all warring with each other yet combined against man, here reigned in absolute sovereignty.” Charles Darwin said this about Patagonia when he first entered the Tierra del Fuego over some 150 years ago. It’s a very good description of the Southern Cone; the last rugged expanse before the Antarctica and the end of the world. Patagonia is a much larger region than many explorers realise. To have a full experience in Patagonia, takes time, some creativity, and a passion for the vast wilderness of the pampas & beyond.

When is the best time to visit?
Patagonia is open 360 days a year. The best time to go really depends on your primary interests. Winter is best if skiing/snowboarding is your passion. If you like to indulge your inner naturalist and spend your time wildlife spotting, then spring/summer/autumn are ideal seasons. And while you can certainly enjoy mountain trekking in the winter (there’s something primal and rewarding about trudging through the snowy mountains for days on end), summer is a great time to view the sweeping panoramas from mountain peaks.

How many days do you need?
If you only intend to visit one location in Patagonia; then you won’t need more than four or five days. However, to really experience Patagonia (both the Chilean and Argentine sides), requires about two weeks minimum, but you can plan a faster itinerary that will allow you to see many of the great places in nine or 10 days as well.
